Our love affair with plastic

is killing our planet

The oceans are full of our junk.

We won’t bother you anymore with terrible pictures of dead birds with full plastic stomachs, deformed turtles or strangled seals. You get the picture. It's clear our waste is killing fish, birds and sea mammals. But all plastic will eventually dissolve into smaller parts. Perfect bait for fish and therefore penetrating our food system as well. This pollution needs to stop. Now.

We have to clean up

Oshin supports different initiatives worldwide. By attending clean-up events ourselves, we learned and started working on our Oshin Patroller project: A white label 'clean-up application' for the community to easily point plastic hotspots and organise clean-up events in a fun and challenging way.

And stop polluting

We raise awareness to stop the unnecessary pollution of our land and waters. Only this way the amount of waist may eventually decrease. You can play a part in it by just sharing news about this pollution, use less plastic products or buy recycled ones. Here's a start with a list of ocean friendly companies and organisations.

With cleaner oceans in mind, we started with what we do best: brainstorm on ideas and design new products together. From the first ideas to the actual production. Meanwhile, we are getting our hands on 'ocean plastics' to produce our products on a large scale. These can be plastics collected from beach clean-ups by NGO's or bought from specific companies.

We are always looking to co-operate with clean-up collectives, recyclers, production-companies and bright minds to start a more sustainable business together.

Turning the useless and ugly

into the beautiful and useful

Turning the useless and ugly

into the beautiful and useful

We craft beautifully designed products from handpicked plastics

Oshin raises awareness on plastic pollution and designs beautiful products made from it. Products that will prove new value in recycled plastic and bring new useful solutions. Oshin will actively support worldwide clean up events. We will help existing NGO's and communities to reach our common goal: prevent irreversible damage to our oceans bij cleaning up beaches and riverbeds. Partly by financing this with the money we earn, but also with new and clever ideas to actually make it happen.

Currently we are actively working on two major projects:

The African Superbowl

In large parts of Africa, head-carrying is the most common way to carry goods. Large metal plates or bowls carried by the youngest to oldest Africans, often causing too much pressure to back and neck, especially when unlifting the load.

We think we have a solution for this. We tried to have a new look on this commonly used tool. What came out is a head-carrying bowl that is ergo-dynamicly better, more hygienic and much more useful because of its multi-functional features.

The Oshin Patroller Project

We’ve done a lot of research on different clean-up movements and discovered all environmental clean-up organisations have the same functional needs, but they lack the proper tools, budget and co-operation.

But money alone won't pick up a damn piece of plastic. We literally need the hands of lots of people to collect pollution along our beaches and riverbeds. We think we found a clever, fun and inspiring way to do this .
